eXplore Locus SP Electrical Block Diagram

The following provides an electrical block diagram that may be used when troubleshooting the
eXplore Locus SP.

Fluoroscopy

Problem

Possible Cause

Suggested Recovery/Solution

No Fluoro

Are Fluoro Window/Level slide bars
correctly set?

If not, adjust slide bars or check filter.

Are X-Rays on?

If not, turn on X-Ray Source.

If X-Ray Source can not be turned on,
check whether eXplore Locus SP has mis-
configured jumpers.

If jumpers are not mis-configured, check
X-Ray tube operation.

Is shutter working?

Open the lid and observe if there is a
flashing red LED. If not, check for
’ShutterServer.exe in the process list.

If ShutterServer.exe does not exist, restart
shutter (’net stop shtrsvr’, ’net start
shtsvr’).

If shutter is still not working, restart the
scanner and restart the computer.

Is computer hung?

Is computer is hung, reboot computer.

Possible hardware connection
problem

Check frame-grabber cable.

Possible protocol mismatch to
hardware

Check for mismatch (i.e. edge trigger
protocols vs. internal trigger protocols).

Error message ’cannot connect to
camera’:

•

Check whether the scanner is
powered.

•

Check power supply (fuses).

•

Check serial connection between PC
and detector.
