If any register in the programmable settings section is set to a value other than the acceptable value then the meter will stay in LIMP 
mode. Please read the        comments section or the range for each register in programmable settings section for acceptable .

If V-Switch is 1 or 2  and  protocol (ppp) is set to 3 (DNP)  then meter will use the MODBUS RTU protocol as DNP is supported by 
V-Switch 3 or above.
