Setting Up the Inputs and
Outputs
While following the programming instructions for the I/O submenu,
refer to Figure A-4 on page A-4.
1.
To enter the I/O submenu, press
[F3]
at the
Global PROGRAM
prompt.
2.
Do one of the following:
•
Press
[F1]
to set up error handling, or
•
Press
[F2]
to set up any inputs or outputs.
Proceed to the appropriate section for step-by-step instructions on
each of the two options offered above.
Note:
Be sure to record all programmed data in Appendix B, Data
Records .
Selecting Error Handling
This menu option permits programming of the manner in which the
Model GS868’s outputs respond during an error condition. See
Chapter 2,
Error Codes and Screen Messages , of the Service Manual
for a discussion of the built-in error codes.
1.
At the I/O prompt, press
[F1]
(Error).
•
Press
[F1]-[F4]
to select the desired error response option, as
described in Table 1-9 below. Use the
[F1]-[F4]
keys to select the
desired error response for the
CH1/CH2
,
SUM
or
DIF
modes, as
described in Table 1-9 below.

Option Display Response Totalizer Response
HOLD Holds the last “good”
reading Holds the last “good” reading
and continues to totalize, based
on that reading
LOW Forces the output to the
low set point Stops totalizing.
HIGH Forces the output to the
high set point Stops totalizing.
HHIGH Forces the output ª10%
above the high set point Stops totalizing.
OTHER Allows user to enter 4-20
mA error level in mA. Sends analog outputs to
entered mA level when a fault
occurs.
