11.2.1
Avoid Dropping
Never drop the gantry, console, table, or PDU. A drop from a height greater than 13 mm (0.5 in.)
may cause structural damage to the frame or other major components. Damage resulting from a
drop (e.g., bent frame, misalignment) may not become apparent until after the system is installed
11.2.2
Avoid Shocks and Vibrations
The design of the system, including the gantry, console, table, and PDU, does not tolerate
excessive shock or vibration, which may occur during unloading. For example, rolling the console
across a "washboard" style ramp may vibrate components, causing loose or broken connections.
Damage resulting from shock or vibration (e.g., monitor, CD-ROM, hard-drive, or console failure)
may not become evident until after the system is installed.
11.2.3
Avoid Tipping
All system components must remain upright at all times; avoid tipping them. Move the gantry by
rolling it on its dollies ONLY, do NOT hoist it. Avoid tipping or lifting the gantry when moving it
through hallways, doorways, elevators, etc.
NOTICE
Never lift the gantry with a forklift. Lifting the gantry requires engineering approval for each
occurrence. Your GE PMI should contact CT Engineering for all special lifting requirements,
as unauthorized gantry lifting can cause gantry bearing damage.
11.3
Inclines and Flat-bed Truck Removal
Inclines and Flat-bed Truck Removal wrecker, attach the straps to the LOWEST possible point on
the dolly, and lower the gantry at the SLOWEST reasonable rate, (see

WARNING
