Number of rings before the system answers
You can select the number of rings before the answering system answers a call.
1. Press .
2. Press or to select Answer System and then press .
3. Press or to select Number of Rings and then press .
4. Press or to select the desired setting and then press
to confirm.
NOTE: If you select TOLL SAVER , the system answers after the second ring if there are new
messages, or after the fourth ring if there is no new message. This allows you to check your
system to see if there are new messages before incurring toll charges.
Message Alert
When this feature is activated and there are new messages, the telephone base
beeps every 15 seconds.
To turn this feature on or off:
1. Press .
2. Press or to select Answer System and then press .
3. Press or to select Message Alert and then press .
4. Press or to select Msg Alert On or Msg Alert Off and then
press
to confirm.
Call screening
When the answering system answers a call, you can listen at the telephone base
while the caller leaves a message.
The message automatically plays on the telephone base. Use the
vol
/
vol
buttons
to adjust speaker volume. If the speaker is at the lowest level (off), you will need to
increase the volume when listening to message playback at the telephone base. You
can also press
on a handset to listen to the recording.
To turn this feature On or Off :
1. Press .
2. Press or to select Answer System and then press .
3. Press or to select Call Screening and then press .
4. Press or to select Screening On or Screening Off and
then press to confirm.
