Basic Broadcast Repeater Network
The following configuration is for a basic broadcast repeater network.
To reduce the amount of RF traffic set the secure delivery parameters to the following:
Retries: AT RR = 0 (Turns off Secure delivery sub-system. Retries are handled by the
Host/Controller)
Multiple-Transmit AT MT = 0 (Turns off multiple transmits)
Delay Slots AT RN = 0 (Time delay between retransmits.)
Streaming Limit AT TT = 0 (For longer packets, The SS900FH pauses after TT bytes to check for
incoming data.)
Set the “Repeater” mode for each modem:
Repeater Modem AT MD = 5
All other modems in the network ATMD = 6
Set the Source Address (MY) on all modems to a unique address with the ATAM command:
Source Address:
AT AM
Generates a unique source address (MY) based on this modems serial number.
Set the Destination Address (DT) for each modem.
Base Node destination address to global mode: AT DT = 0xFFFF
Repeater Node destination address to global mode: AT
DT = 0xFFFF
End Node destination address to local mode: AT DT = 0xFFFF
Set the Mask (MK) for each modem.
Base Node mask: AT MK = 0xFFFF
Repeater Node mask: AT MK = 0xFFFF
End Node mask: AT MK = 0xFFFF
Note: the Repeater Node Mask should be set to 0x7FFF if there is no host/controller attached to it.

This configuration will produce a Repeater Network that can be used for small networks with 1 repeater and 1-2
End Nodes. However in larger networks, It will be necessary to isolate the signal paths and modify the security
parameters to minimize the amount of traffic.
