3 Device use
3.1 Connect with PC
The GCAN-212 module uses +9~24V DC power supply (+12V or +24V
standard power supply is recommended). When the device receives normal
power supply, the user can use the PC’s Ethernet interface to directly connect
to the GCAN-212’s LAN interface. Then you can establish communication,
and use the "CANet-Wifi-Config" configuration software on the PC to
configure its working mode and basic operating parameters (for details on how
to use the CANet-Wifi-Config software, please refer to the Chapter 4).
3.1.1 Restore factory settings
GCAN-212 hardware factory default IP: 192.168.1.10, if the user has modified
the IP address and forgot, then you can reset its parameters by long pressing the
reset button.
After GCAN-212 is powered on, find the reset button in the device as shown in
the figure above, press the button for about 5-6 seconds, wait until the SYS
indicator, CAN1, CAN2 indicator, and LAN indicator flash, it means that The
system parameters have been reset. After releasing the button, power on the
GCAN-212 again, and the system will be restored to the factory settings.
Please note: After restoring the factory settings, the previous configuration
information will be lost. Please operate with caution.
3.1.2 Change the IP address of the PC
Before using the PC to communicate with the GCAN-212, the user needs to
ensure that there is an Ethernet card in the user's PC, and that the PC and the
GCAN-212 must be in the same network segment.
The GCAN-212 device is set with a default IP address (192.168.1.10) and
gateway (255.255.255.0) at the factory. The user can check whether the device
and the user's PC are in the same network segment according to the process
shown in Figure 3.1.
