The Solution
The appliance is working,
but the LCD display is
dark.
The automatic shut-off of
the LCD display is active.
For saving energy, the backlight of the LCD display gets
dark after approx. 20 seconds without any input. This
is normal. To illuminate the LCD display again for 20
seconds, press the SET button.
The appliance is working
but the count-down of the
dehydrating time does
not start.
The pre-heating time for
reaching the set tempera-
ture may increase signifi-
cantly when increasing the
set temperature.
The count-down starts as soon as the set temperature is rea-
ched within the dehydration chamber. The pre-heating time
depends on the set temperature, the amount of food in the
dehydration chamber, and the room temperature. Just wait.
The environment tempera-
ture is too low.
With a high setting of the dehydrating temperature and
a very low room temperature, it is possible that the set
temperature is not reached at all. Possibly, with a room
temperature below 21°C, you need to control the dehy-
dration process manually.
The LCD display is illumi-
nated, but the food is not
dried.
The temperature is set
below the current room
temperature.
Select a sufficiently higher dehydrating temperature (see:
‘Operation’).
The humidity of the envi-
ronment is very high.
The dehydration process depends on the humidity of the
air-intake also. With high humidity, you should expect
an elongated dehydrating time. Increase the dehydrating
time, select a room with low humidity for operation, or
select a somewhat higher temperature.
The internal fuse of the
appliance has been trigge-
red or the heating element
is broken.
Get in contact with an authorized service centre for exa-
mination and repair.
The food is not dried suffi-
ciently within the expected
period of time.
The pieces may be too lar-
ge or too thick.
Cut your food to smaller pieces.
The food trays have been
overloaded.
Separate the individual pieces of food. The air flow within
the dehydration chamber may not be blocked. If required,
take out some food and separate your food to smaller
portions.
The food has been too
wet, when starting ope-
ration.
Simply give the dehydration process some more time.
Wipe off any liquid that dripped onto the heating base.
Dab dry very juicy food, before dehydration. Perhaps, lea-
ve very wet pieces of food dry at room temperature first.
