11.7 Removing the fork protector

Remove screws

. Remove the clamp.

Remove screws

. Take off the left fork protector.

Remove screws

. Take off the right fork protector.
11.8 Installing the fork protector

Position the fork protection on the left fork leg. Mount and tighten
screws

Guideline
Remaining screws,
chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
–
Position the brake line and clamp. Mount and tighten screws

Position the fork protector on the right fork leg. Mount and tighten
screws

Preparatory work
–
Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 42)

Remove the front wheel. ( p. 82)

Remove the fork legs. ( p. 43)

Remove the start number plate. ( p. 49)
–
Remove front fender. ( p. 50)
–
Remove the handlebar cushion.

Take off the upper triple clamp with the handlebar and hang them
to the side.

Cover the components to protect them against damage.
Do not kink the cables and lines.
