NAV
CDI
When enabled, a CDI replaces the NAV STBY window. It appears between the active
and standby windows when you are actively monitoring the NAV standby frequency.
STBY window replaces the CDI when you tune the standby NAV frequency. The CDI
is absent when course deviation data are invalid.
TO/FROM LEGS ON THE CDI
These legs are depicted as an upright or inverted triangle based on CDI data.
Each circle on the CDI scale represents 5 degrees deflection with 11 degrees full
deflection to each side. Fly toward the center bar to be on-course.
The CDI presents a sliding lateral
deviation indicator on a horizontal
scale.
A pointer moves left or right to
portray aircraft position relative to
the selected course. Pointer
direction indicates the current leg
type: To (up) From (down).
An OBS selected course field
accompanies the CDI scale.
Manual course adjustments are
not available while receiving
selected course input from the
external CDI/HSI.
