3. Fertilisers and other garden chemicals contain agents greatly accelerate
the corrosion of metals. Do not store the hedge trimmer on or adjacent to
fertilisers or chemicals.
4. With the unit stopped, use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the
outside of the hedge trimmer. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never
immerse any part of the hedge trimmer into a liquid.
Blade Lubrication
WARNING:
Before lubricating, be sure your hedge
trimmer is switched off and blades (1) have come
to a complete stop.
For easier operation and longer blade life,
lubricate the blade before and after each use.
Apply light machine oil along the edge of the
blade/s (1) bar (Fig W).
Greasing
The engine requires re-greasing after approximately
every 25 hours of operation.
• Apply lithium grease into the gearbox through the
grease nipple (18) after 25 hours running (Fig X).
Air Filter
CAUTION: NEVER
operate this unit without
the air filter as dust and dirt will be sucked into the engine and damage it.
Accumulated dust in the air filter will reduce engine efficiency, increase fuel
consumption and allow abrasive particles to pass into the engine. Remove the
air filter as often as necessary and maintain a clean condition of the filter and
cylinder fins.
