13.
STEERING SYSTEM
The steering system is an essential element for the safety and comfort of your vessel.
13.1.
Wheels
Your boat is equipped with 2 wheels each connected to a rudder, with a mechanical
transmission system between the two rudders. The link between the wheel and the rudder is
made using metallic cables. The link between the two rudders is made using a transmission
rod.
WARNING
Be careful not to obstruct the aft lockers, so not to block the steering system.
Periodically check the steering system (rudder / bearings / link bars). Tighten all the bolts
and lubricate ball joints periodically.
Periodically check the tension of the cables and tighten if necessary.
Autopilot mounting
Should you have any doubts or problems, consult the shipyard or your retailer.
13.2.
Emergency tiller
The starboard steering system / rudder can be used independently from the port steering
system / rudder by disconnecting the rod between the two systems.
In case of breakage of one rudder system, the other one – disconnected from the broken
steering system – is used as an emergency tiller.
