Note :
Be aware that a failed test is not necessarily a fault confirmation, because some faults are pro
-
grammed to be confirmed if the test fails a number of times (eg. 5 tests). Then a fault is “intermittent”.
The 8 bits do not necessarily apply to all ECUs and faults due to their vocation. In these cases, Status
Bits “not applicable” will be set at any time to “1” and can bring confusion when interpreting faults. For
this reason, applying a filter is recommended. (
