5 Programming a Hold
A Hold status can be programmed in conjunction with the audible alarm to call
you back to the COBE 2991 at the beginning of either the Start/Spin operation or
the Agitate/Wash-In operation. If the audible alarm is turned off, the HOLD light
is the only indication of the Hold status.
Programming a Hold Status at the Beginning of the Start/Spin Operation
To program a Hold status at the beginning of the Start/Spin operation for a given
cycle, insert a pin into both TIMER sockets.
When the Start/Spin operation with two timers programmed is reached, the
HOLD light illuminates, the centrifuge continues spinning, and the audible alarm
sounds (if turned on).
You have the following options:
• Remove one of the timer pins as necessary and press the CONTINUE button.
The Start/Spin operation continues for the time selected.
-or-
• To end the program, press the STOP RESET button.
Programming a Hold at the Beginning of the Agitate/Wash-In Operation
To program a Hold status at the beginning of the Agitate/Wash-In operation for a
given cycle, program multiple valves for that cycle.
When the Agitate/Wash-In operation with multiple valves programmed is reached,
the HOLD light illuminates, the centrifuge stops and does not agitate, the audible
alarm sounds (if turned on) and the MINIMUM AGITATE TIME timer is
temporarily suspended.
You have the following options:
• Remove a pin from the appropriate valve socket. Press the CONTINUE
button. The centrifuge agitates, the selected valve opens, and the
Agitate/Wash-In operation continues as programmed.
-or-
• Remove both pins. Press the CONTINUE button. The centrifuge agitates,
and the Agitate/Wash-In operation continues as programmed without any
processing/wash solution being added.
