Operator Controls
CIRCUIT BREAKERS
The five circuit breakers (CB1 through CB5) protect the COBE 2991’s circuitry
against overload. Always check these circuit breakers when any of the COBE 2991’s
functions fail. If a circuit breaker trips and does not stay reset, contact a qualified
service representative for assistance.
CB1 protects the electronics and operation indicators (POWER ON, START
SPIN, etc.).
CB2 protects the valves and switching relays.
CB3 protects the agitation circuitry for the centrifuge.
CB4 protects the centrifuge circuitry.
CB5 protects the hydraulic pump circuitry.
AUDIBLE ALARM
The COBE 2991 has either one or two audible alarms that can be used to alert you
to the following:
• Alarm conditions
• End of program (stop)
• Programmed hold (CALL stop)
• Certain procedural conditions
Primary Alarm
The primary audible alarm sounds intermittently (one second on, one second off )
and is controlled by the AUDIBLE ALARM ON/OFF toggle switch. If the toggle
switch is in the ON position, the COBE 2991 sounds the primary alarm during the
conditions listed above. If the toggle switch is in the OFF position, the primary
audible alarm does not sound.
If the audible alarm is turned OFF, there is no indication of an excess pressure alarm
other than the EXCESS PRESSURE and STOP RESET lights being illuminated.
Use of the audible alarm is optional. However, Gambro BCT suggests having the
audible alarm turned ON.
