MAIN COMPONENTS OF THE OUTDOOR UNIT
The outdoor unit has the same components in all three sizes.
The size of the fi nned coil changes together with the number
of fans that increase by one unit as the size increases (two
fans for the 012, three for the 022 and four for the 033).
Finned pack heat exchangers:
The fi nned pack heat exchangers allow for the maximum
front surface in relation to the footprint of the unit. The
wide front surfaces reduce the risk of fouling and thanks to
the reduced through-speed the air-side pressure drops are
reduced, which benefi ts the air fl ow rate (effi
ciency) and the
emitted sound power of the fans. Heat exchange between
the refrigerant and air takes place thanks to a number of 25 x
21.65 mm expanded pipes (8 mm diameter), in an automatic
and controlled process, in 0.10 mm thick aluminium
fi ns. Expansion is a fey factor and important process as it
determines the pipe/fi n contact resistance and it is often
ignored in the case of high heat exchange effi
ciencies.

Fans:
6-pole fans are used in the outdoor remote unit (3 pole pairs ),
with plastic blades having a high degree of overlapping (450
mm), combined with single-phase asynchronous motors or
alternatively, synchronous with EC permanent magnets.
With regards to the remote unit for indoor use, enhanced
silence is obtained by using centrifugal fans with backward-
curved blades with a strong degree of reaction combined
with EC brushless motors for continuous and effi
cient
modulation: the air fl ow rate and therefore the absorbed
power and noise emitted are always adapted to the actual
conditions of use in terms of pressure drops of the channels
and degree of capacity control of the unit.
