When the tool is connected to a powerunit, operation is controlled by an actuator on the tool. When the actuator
lever is depressed, air pressure allows air to be redirected to the booster, starting the pull cycle. Pressurized
air inside the booster pushes the air piston forward, while also pushing oil from the oil reservoir to the front
side of the head cylinder, causing the piston assembly to move to the rear position. The internal components
of the attached nose assembly are also moving with the piston assembly, starting the fastener installation.
When the fastener installation is completed and the actuator is released, the air valve shifts and directs the air
pressure to the front side of the air piston assembly, reversing the sequence. The spent pintail ejects from
the rear of tool.
