LOWER HANDLE ASSEMBLY
Align the lower handle with the connection points on
the mower body and attach with the knob and bolt
assembly, Fig.3. Repeat this process on both sides.
Fit the cable fasteners in the indicated position, Fig.4.
UPPER HANDLE ASSEMBLY
Fasten the bottom of the upper handle to the lower
handle using the two fastening levers, Fig.5. These
fastening levers must be tightened enough to ensure
that the handle is firmly attached, without requiring
excessive force to loosen or tighten them again.
INSTALLING THE GRASS COLLECTION BOX
Remove key and battery pack if installed.
Lift the impact protector, Fig.6.
Lift the grass collection box by its handle and place
under the impact protector so that the hooks on the
grass collection box are seated into the slots on the
mower body, Fig.7.
Release the impact protector. When installed
correctly, the hooks on the grass collection box will
rest securely in the slots on the mower body.
INSTALLING AND REMOVING BATTERY PACK
Warning!
Always remove battery pack from your tool
when you are assembling parts, making adjustments,
cleaning, carrying, transporting or when not in use.
Removing battery pack will prevent accidental starting
that could cause serious personal injury.
Lift up the battery cover and slide the battery pack
into the slot until it clicks into place, Fig.8. (Note the
battery has raised ribs which allows it to fit into the
machine only one way). If the machine is not going to
be used immediately, do not insert the key.
To remove the battery, remove the key, press both
battery release buttons, and pull the battery pack out
of the slot.
CONTROLS
DUAL-ACTION SWITCH (FIG.9)
The motor is controlled by a dual-action switch to
prevent accidental start ups.
Press the safety button (2) and pull the lever (1) to
start the machine.
WARNING!
Starting up the motor will engage the
rotor at the same time.
The motor stops automatically when the lever (1) is
released.
OPERATION
STARTING/STOPPING THE MOTOR
To start the motor:
Open the battery cover and insert
the key into the slot, Fig.10
Press and hold the safety lock-off button, Fig.11.
Pull the switch lever upward to the handle to start the
mower and release the button.
To stop the motor:
Release the switch lever.
CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
When shipped, the wheels on the mower are set to a
low-cutting position. Before using the mower for the
first time, raise the cutting position to the height best
suited for your lawn. The average lawn should be
between 1 1/2" to 2" (3.8 to 5 cm) during cool months
and between 2" and 3 1/2" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) during
hot months.
TO ADJUST THE BLADE HEIGHT (FIG.12)
Remove key and battery pack.
To raise the blade height, grasp the height adjustment
lever and move it toward the back of the mower.
To lower the blade height, grasp the height
adjustment lever and move it toward the front of the
mower.
MOWING TIPS
Make sure the lawn is clear of stones, sticks, wires,
and other objects that could damage the lawn mower
blades or motor. Do not mow over property stakes or
other metal posts. Such objects could damage the
blade or be accidentally thrown by the mower in any
direction and cause serious personal injury to the
operator and others.
For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of
the total length of the grass. The average lawn should
be approximately 3.8 to 5 cm long during cool
months, and between 5 cm to 8.3 cm long during hot
months. If there is growth, the lawn should be cut in
the fall.
When cutting heavy grass, reduce walking speed to
allow for more effective cutting and a proper
discharge of the clippings.
