6. General safety instructions for power tools
Please read all instructions and warnings carefully. Failure to follow instructions and warnings
may result in electric shock, fire, and severe injury. Please keep the instructions and warnings in a
safe place. The term "device" here means electrically operated devices, either mains operated
(with mains cable) or battery-operated (without mains cable).
Workplace
Always keep the work area clean, tidy, and well-lit. Untidy and dark regions are prone to accidents.
The device must not be operated in explosive areas, e.g., in the vicinity of flammable liquids,
gases, or dust. The device can cause sparks that can cause the dust or vapours to explode.
When working with the device, other persons, especially children, must always maintain a safe
distance. If distracted by others, you may lose control of the device.
Electrical safety
The mains voltage must always correspond to the corresponding specifications for the
current-voltage on the device's type plate. The power plug of the device must fit into the socket.
The pin must not be changed in any way. Do not use adapter plugs together with grounded
electrical devices. Unchanged plugs and suitable sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
Avoid any physical contact with earthed surfaces, such as pipes, heaters, stoves, and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed. Keep the device
away from rain or moisture. Water entering the device increases the risk of electric shock.
Please do not use the cord to carry the device, hang it up, or unplug it from the wall outlet. Always
keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Damaged or tangled lines
increase the risk of electric shock.
If you (must) work with the device outdoors, only use extension cables suitable for outdoor use.
Using an extension cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
If the device's operation in a humid environment cannot be avoided, always use an earth leakage
circuit breaker. The use of an earth leakage circuit breaker reduces the risk of electric shock.
