4.9 Event Timer Option
The event timer option provides a countdown timer coinciding with the event 1 output. This provides simple,
timed operation of the system for a preset period when more complex automatic program operation is not
required.
The
Event Timer Option button toggles the option on and off. When enabled, the timer is automatically
associated with event 1 and its corresponding output. Thus, when the timer is started, event 1 will be turned
on. When the timer is stopped and/or completes its cycle, event 1 will be turned off. Access to the timer is
provided by a “Stopwatch” icon on the Loop View and Overview screens in the runtime application.
The
Power Fail Mode selection is used to set the desired mode of operation of the timer when power is restored
if it was running at the moment power was lost.
Terminate: When power is restored, event 1 and the timer will be off .
Resume: When power is restored, event 1 will be on and the timer will continue operation from the time
remaining at the moment power was lost (within 1 minute accuracy)

Restart: When power is restored, event 1 will be on and the timer will reset and begins its countdown
from the specified time entry.
When Alarm on Completion is turned on, the MCTB will activate an alarm upon completion of the timed cycle.
Once the alarm has occurred it must be manually cleared from the Alarm screen of the runtime application.
The
Email/SMS on Completion selection is used to enable email/SMS capability for the timer. When on, if
the email client of the MCTB has been properly configured and email addresses have been entered into the
system to receive email and/or SMS messages on alarm (see section
9.8 Email ), a timer completion message
will be sent to the applicable email addresses at the end of the timing cycle. If this setting is off, no email/SMS
message will be sent regardless of the email client settings.
