Operation
Preparation
Keep the case or holdall for safe
storage and transportation.
f
Check that the contents are complete.
f
Check all the parts for possible transport
damage.
f
Prepare a safe clipping area and all
protective equipment.
f
Ensure the animal is safely restrained
and that it’s hair is clean and dry.
Warning! Injuries and material
damage due to incorrect blade
fitting.
f
Switch off clipper and disconnect
from power source before
removing or fitting the blades.
f
Only operate the appliance after
the blades have been correctly
fitted and tensioned and oiled.
Fitting the Blades (Fig. 2)
Use Lister or Wahl blades for the
best fit and performance.
Blades are manufactured in pairs,
they must be kept and used in pairs
to increase their life.
1. Disconnect from power source.
2. Turn the clipper upside-down and
carefully fit top blade to the clipper head.
The crank roller must be located in the
socket of the top blade.
3. Fit the bottom blade, ensuring the 2
holes are fitted over the 2 pegs.
4. Insert the tension bolt through the
central hole.
5. Fit the tension spring over the tension
bolt, and screw the tension nut down
tight.
6. Set the “Tension” (see below).
Setting the Tension (Fig. 3)
1. Screw the tension nut down by hand
until it stops.
2. Using the marker on the tension nut as
a guide, slacken the tension nut back off
by 1 1/2 turns to set the tension.
Warning! Injuries and material
damage due to incorrect tension.
f
Excessive tension will blunt and
overheat the blades.
f
Insufficient tension will reduce
cutting performance and lead to
clogged blades.
Lubrication (Fig. 4)
f
Brush excess hair from the blades and
clipper.
f
Oil the blades every 5-10 minutes when
clipping, use “R15” oil. Briefly run the
appliance to spread the oil, then switch-
off and wipe away any excess oil.
1. Oil between the cutter points, pointing
the head upwards to spread the oil
between the blades.
2. Oil the surfaces between the clipper
head and the top blade.
3. Oil the heel of the cutter blade from
both sides, tilting the head sideways to
spread oil over the rear blade surfaces.
4. Oil the cutter blade guide channels via
the two holes, tilting the head sideways
to spread the oil.
5. Oil the crank shaft and roller via the
central hole.
Warning! Injuries and material
damage due to incorrect oiling.
f
Oil the blades frequently.
f
Only use “R15” oil. Other
lubricants may cause irritation to
the animal’s skin.
f
Aerosol spray lubricants contain
solvents that may damage the
appliance or blades.
Mains operation (Fig 5.)
1. Connect the mains plug to the mains
socket.
2. Switch on the appliance by sliding the on
/ off switch (5a) in the forwards direction
(5b).
3. To select the fast speed slide it further
forwards (5c).
4. After use, slide it backwards (5d) to
switch the appliance off.
Caution! Damage due to incorrect
power supply.
f
Only operate the appliance
with the voltage stated on the
nameplate.
Overload protection (Fig 5.)
The appliance includes an overload
protection fuse that will switch the motor
off if the blades become jammed. If the
overload protection fuse has activated,
check the blades and coat / fleece for
blockages. Clear any obstructions and
replace any damaged blades.
To reset the overload protection fuse, slide
the switch backwards past the off position
(5e).

damage due to incorrect handling.
f
Switch off the appliance and
disconnect it from the mains
before cleaning it or performing
any maintenance.
f
It is particularly important to keep
plug and cable clean, dry and in
order at all times.
Filter cleaning (Fig. 6)
Caution! Motor damage due to
blockages.
f
The motor will overheat if the filter
is blocked.
f
Never run the appliance with the
filter removed as hair / wool will
enter the motor.
Regularly check and clean the filter (6a).
Pull up on the tab (6b) to remove it. Hold
it up to the light to check the wire mesh for
blockages. Wipe or brush away any dirt
and debris (6c). Ensure the filter is clean
and dry before refitting.

After every 100 hours use, remove 5 front
screws (7a), remove the clipper-head (7b)
and gearbox cover (7c) and wipe away
hair and used grease from the gear wheel
(7d). Check for wear and broken teeth.
Re-coat the gears with clean grease (R2
or equivalent). Refit the clipper-head and
gearbox cover before operating.
