Sounder Menu
The [Sounder] section of the [Advanced Settings] menu contains the settings for
sounders connected to the FCV-38. For external sounders, see section 4.6,
section 4.8.
Menu item
Description
[Color Erase]
Erases unwanted noise. See section 1.26.
[White Edge]
Gives the seabed echo a white edge. Useful when trying
to separate bottom-feeding fish from the seabed. Set a
high value for a thick white line or a low value for a thin
white line. Set to [Off] to disable this function.
[Clutter]
Removes unwanted echoes (sediment, etc.). See
section 1.12.
[TVG Level]
Time Varied Gain. Adjusts the TVG level. See
section 1.27.
[TVG Distance]
Adjusts the maximum distance at which TVG is applied.
See section 1.27.
[STC]
Sensitivity Time Control. Removes unwanted echoes
near the surface. Use this function when you want to see
fish near the surface clearly.
Set the STC value according to your requirement. A set-
ting of [0] disables the STC.
Note:
A high STC setting can erase fish echoes. It is rec-
ommended to watch your display when adjusting the
STC.
[Bottom Zone] - [Above]&
[Bottom Zone] - [Below]
Sets the are in which the seabed is displayed when auto-
range mode is active.
Note:
This menu item is available only if [Auto Range] is
not selected from the [Range]
→
[Auto] menu in the [Sys-
tem] menu.
