3 INSTALLATION
Installation must only be performed by trained specialist
staff in compliance with these operating instructions and
the applicable regulations.
3.1 Installation site
The type, conditions and ambient temperature of the instal-
lation site must be suitable for the fan.
The following points must be observed:
•
The mounting surface or foundation must be suitable
for supporting the weight of the fan and accessories.
•
The mounting surface must be level.
•
The fan must be mounted without tension using vibra-
tion-absorbing elements and connected to the supply
air/exhaust system using elastic collars.
•
The fan must be accessible for maintenance tasks at all
times and be surrounded by sufficient free space.
•
Ensure that the fan has a sufficient supply of fresh air
for cooling the motor.
•
During installation, ensure that operation generates
negative pressure in the shaft opening due to the fan’s
structural arrangement.
•
Installation of the fan and its components is based on
the operator’s installation plan.
•
Mount the fan on vibration dampers. These are bolted
onto the pre-bored points in the base frame and an-
chored in the on-site foundation.
•
If the fan is mounted outside, a PE drive protection
cover provided by the manufacturer must be attached.
A flame-retardant PP rain cover or deflector cover pro-
vided by the client must also be welded in place.
3.2 Installation on a mounting plane/foundation
FUNKEN FRv 075–110+ small radial fans are designed for
mounting on consoles or flanges. The following options are
available:
3.2.1 Console design
Follow these instructions step by step:
1)
Trace the frame’s hole pitch onto the mounting surface/
the foundation.
2)
Drill the four holes using a drill that is suitable for the
screw diameter and composition of the mounting surface/
foundation.
3)
Press the included PA bushes into the vibration dampers
and push the vibration dampers into the slits provided
on the console with the PA bushes pointing towards the
screw head.
4)
Position the fan on the installation site by aligning the pre-
drilled holes in the mounting surface with the vibration
damper bores and attach the fan using suitable screws.
Use washers.
3.2.2 Flange design
Follow these instructions step by step:
1)
Trace the hole pitch of the four attachment points onto the
mounting surface.
2)
Drill the four holes using a drill suitable for the screw
diameter.
3)
Press the included PA bushes into the vibration dampers
with the PA bushes pointing towards the screw head.
4)
Stick the self-adhesive PE seal included onto the bottom
of the flange before starting assembly. This sealing tape
has one adhesive side and prevents the medium from
leaking out. The surface must be smooth and clean when
attaching the sealing tape to ensure a good seal is estab-
lished between the flange and the fan base.
5)
Position the fan on the installation site by aligning the pre-
drilled holes in the mounting surface with the vibration
damper bores and screw in the screw that is the easiest
to reach.
6)
Attach the flange to the fan base by successively screwing
in the mounting screws in turn.
7)
By turning, the housing spiral can then be positioned in the
desired discharge direction.
The mains power cable and the thermal contact cable must
be of sufficient length.
