Doffing guide for
PureFlo
®
3000P
This guide was written in conjunction with The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in line
with current PHE guidance on PPE and RPE.
Do not remove the respirator until you have vacated the contaminated area. You will need a
doffing buddy wearing an apron and gloves to help you with this process.
This guide is for illustrative purposes only and should be adapted to meet your Trusts Policies.
1. Roll up the cape, ensuring the
outside is tucked in and
the toggle is visable.
7. Loosen the drawstring toggle,
bend forward and have your
doffing buddy remove the hood.
Clean or dispose as required.
3. Locate the airflow adaptor at
the rear of the hood and stretch
elastic over the top.
2. Release the hood from the
front of the respirator frame by
unpopping the fasteners.
4. Remove your gloves, dispose and perform hand hygiene.
5. Remove your apron/gown, dispose and perform hand hygiene.
6. Leave the patient’s room.
8. Switch the respirator off and
remove the frame, loosening the
headband if necessary.
