7 Net Unit
The Net Unit implements the connection of the units to the networks of the SE server and
to private customer networks. The Net Unit can be designed with redundancy in the interest
of protection against failure.
The Net Unit contains the following components:
– Switches
A redundant Net Unit has redundant switches (by default in the case of SE700 and
SE500).
– Optional port extension
A redundant Net Unit can be complemented by a redundant port extension to increase
the number of redundant LAN ports.
– HNC in the SE700 and SE500
The HNC connects the Server Unit /390 with the LAN. Up to 4 HNCs are possible.
Future extensions of the Net Unit will support up to 10 Gbps.
