Different configurations

Mixed installation

In a mixed installation with different controllers the following controller configu-
ration has to be observed:

1. LSI 1078 controller within mounting location for controller #1 (lower location)

2. LSI 1064 controller within mounting location for controller #2 (upper location)

Remove the storage blade as described in 

section “Removing the storage 

blade” on page 13

.

Ê

Open the storage blade as described in 

section “Opening the storage blade” 

on page 14

.

Prerequisites

No controller installed, HDDs not connected.

Cabling of controller #1 (LSI 1078

Ê

Plug the controller into the contact strip (1) of the main board #1 and fix it 
with a screw C26192-Y10-C68 (blue circle).

Ê

Plug the connector HOST of the lower SAS cable into the SAS connector 
MLC1 (2) on the controller #1.

Ê

Plug the connector P1 of the lower SAS cable into the connector on the HDD 
diskbay 2/3 (3).
