Installing a non-hot-plug expansion card

Figure 34: Inserting the new expansion card

Open the expansion card lock by lifting it up (1).

The expansion card is now mechanically unlocked.

Remove the slot cover (2).

CAUTION!

Keep the slot cover of the PCI slot. If you remove the controller again
and do not replace it with a new one, the slot cover must be
reinstalled to comply with EMC regulations and to satisfy cooling
requirements and fire protection measures.

Insert the new expansion card into the provided slot.

Close the expansion card lock by folding it down. Make sure that the
expansion card lock engages.

If necessary, connect the cables on the expansion card.

Close the server (see

"Opening/Closing the server" on page 125
