Upgrade and Maintenance Manual

Hard disk drives (HDD), solid state drives (SSD) and 2.5-inch PCIe-SSD

– When installing HDDs with different bus technologies (SAS or SATA), first

install SAS drives and then SATA drives.

– Please refer to section

"HDD/SSD install order" on page 91

for a complete

overview of the mounting sequence.

– Install dummy modules into unused HDD/SSD bays.

HDD/SSD bays assignment

Up to six HDDs/SSDs are installed in a cage. The cages are assigned to the
server nodes as follows.
