Chapter 6 Upgrade from Storage Cruiser Version 15.x
To upgrade Storage Cruiser Version 15.x to this version, install the ETERNUS SF Manager.
Point

In the version level of the Storage Cruiser, there are conditions for the combination of manager and agent. Upgrade your version,
in order to fulfill the combination that is described in "Notes on Combining Different Versions" of the
ETERNUS SF Release Guide
.

If AdvancedCopy Manager and AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module are both installed on the same server, when
upgrading, both AdvancedCopy Manager and AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module are upgraded. Therefore, perform
backups of the previous versions before starting the upgrade.

The following information cannot be imported from the previous version:

Operation History
-
Events
-
Login/Logout history
-
Threshold Monitoring Alarms

It is possible to perform an Upgrade Installation with existing Advanced Copy and Remote Advanced Copy sessions. Regardless of
whether there are Advanced Copy sessions or not, the upgrade procedure is the same.

Of the devices that were supported in the previous version, the information for the devices that are not supported in this version
is not imported. Refer to "Supported Devices" in the
ETERNUS SF Installation and Setup Guide
for information on the supported
devices in this version.
6.1 Upgrading Storage Cruiser's Manager (for Windows)
6.1.1 Upgrading on Non-clustered Systems
6.1.1.1 Preparing for Upgrade
Point
It is recommended that you back up the system before starting the upgrade. If a failure occurs during the upgrade, you cannot restore
the environment to the pre-installation status (rollback).
When returning back to the state before installation of the upgrade, recover (restore) the system from the backup.
6.1.1.1.1 Backing Up Operational Environment of Previous Version
With the following procedure, back up the operational environment of the previous version:

Performance monitoring
If the performance monitoring was performed with the previous version, refer to the following information related to the
performance monitoring with Web Console of the previous version and record the configuration information of the previous
version.

Interval that obtains performance information (in seconds)

Performance monitoring target (only for ETERNUS Disk storage system. Minimum LUN_V, Maximum LUN_V)
