Technical Manual

Features

Fan control

The fans are regulated according to temperature. Maximum speed will only be
achieved when switching the server on and in case of a fan test or hot
environment.

Sensor monitoring

Any fault in, or the removal of, a temperature sensor is detected. Should this
happen, all fans run at maximum speed to ensure the highest possible
protection of the hardware.

Power monitoring

When the voltage exceeds or falls below the warning levels, an alert is issued
and the system will start to throttle.

System Event Log (SEL)

All monitored critical and warning events of the system board are signalized via
the Global Error LED or CSS LED and recorded in the System Event Log. They
could be retrieved in the BIOS Setup Utility, iRMC S2’s Web interface or via the
ServerView Operations Manager.
