Memory expansion
Your notebook is equipped with a 128MB, 256MB, 512MB or 1 Gbyte memory module. The
notebook will not start without a memory module, as no fixed main memory is installed.

The notebook must be switched off when installing/removing the memory modules, it
must not be in Suspend mode.
Use only memory expansions which have been released for your notebook:
128-, 256-, 512-Mbyte or 1Gbyte-Module PC 266 DDR SO DIMM, 144 pin JEDEC
for the models AMILO D 6820 / 7820 / 8820
or:
128-, 256-, 512-Mbyte or 1Gbyte-Module PC 266 DDR SO DIMM
for the models AMILO D 6800 / 7800 / 8800
Never use force when installing or removing memory modules.
Make sure that foreign objects do not fall into the memory module compartment.
Installing memory modules
Ê Switch the notebook off.
Ê
Close the LCD screen so that it locks into place.
Ê
Unplug the power adapter from the mains outlet.
Ê
Disconnect all cables connected to the notebook.
Ê
Turn the notebook over.
Ê
Place the notebook on a flat surface.
Ê
Remove the battery (see "Inserting and removing the battery ").
