Charging the Battery
The battery is not fully charged at shipment and must be
fully charged before being used.

Rechargeable Battery NP-50 (1)
CAUTION
• The battery is not fully charged at shipment and must be
fully charged before being used.
• Do not stick labels onto the battery as this could cause
the battery to become jammed inside the camera.
• Any contact between the battery terminals could cause
the battery to short circuit and overheat.
• See “Notes and Cautions” (Basic Manual) for
information on the battery.
• Always use the Rechargeable Battery NP-50
(included). The use of other brands of rechargeable
battery could cause faults or damage to the camera.
• Do not split or peel outer labels of the battery. If outer
labels of the battery are split or peeled, Do not use the
battery, but replace it with a new one.
• Do not use the rechargeable battery NP-50 for the
digital camera compatible with the rechargeable battery
NP-40. The battery will be stuck inside of the camera
and disable to be taken out.

Load the battery into the battery charger
BC-50.
Set the battery correctly as indicated by the polarity icon.

Plug the battery charger into a power outlet.
The charging indicator lights red and charging begins.
When charging is completed, the indicator lights green.
Charging completes after about 2.3 hours.
