Basic Photography and Playback

Taking Pictures in

(Scene Recognition) Mode

Focus.

Press the shutter button halfway to focus.

The lens may make a noise when the camera focuses; this
is normal.

Double

beep

If the camera is able to focus

, it will beep twice.

If the camera is unable to focus

, the focus frame will turn red,

will be dis-

played. Change the composition or use focus lock (

Shoot.

Smoothly press the shutter button the rest of the way
down to take the picture.

If the subject is poorly lit, the flash may fire when the pic-
ture is taken. For information on using the flash when

The shutter button has two positions. Pressing the shutter button halfway sets
focus and exposure; to shoot, press the shutter button the rest of the way down.
