5.3 Cleaning the Slide Loading Part and the Slide Transfer Part
Stains on the slide loading part, slide transfer part and upper heater may largely affect on test results. These
parts should be checked and cleaned at least once a month.
WARNING:
Before cleaning the analyzer, always be sure to unplug the AC power cable, the USB cable and the like.
Always wear gloves, lab coat, and safety goggles when you perform cleaning.
IMPORTANT:
After cleaning the analyzer, restore the connection of the AC power cable, the USB cable and the like and be
sure to check the operation of the analyzer by turning on the power switch.

Cleaning procedures
(1) Turn off the power of FDC NX10N and remove
the AC power cable, the USB cable and the like
from the connector.
(2) Open the pipette cover and the transfer frame.

Upper heater
(3) Clean the surface of slide loading part, both
sides of slide transfer frame, and upper heater
using a cotton swab or gauze saturated and
tightly wrung out with ethyl alcohol for disinfec-
tion or 0.5% of sodium hypochlorite disinfectant.
Always wipe the slide loading part, both sides of
slide transfer frame, and upper heater with a dry
soft close such as gauze after cleaning.
Dry the parts well after cleaning.

After cleaning, close the pipette cover and the
transfer frame.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure to close the pipette cover and the transfer
frame after cleaning the photometer. Otherwise, the
failure of the test may result.
