10.5.4.1 Major Functions [Fuser & Paper Exit]
FUSER ASSY
Consists of the HEAT ROLL, PRESSURE ROLL, HALOGEN LAMP, THERMISTOR, THERMOSTAT,
SENSOR ACTUATOR, ROLL ASSY EXIT, SENSOR EXIT, SEPARATOR, and so on. The FUSER
ASSY fixes toner not yet fixed on paper with heat and pressure and then ejects paper.
- The HEAT ROLL, that is a metallic coating roll (hollow), applies heat to anastomoses toner on
paper.
- The PRESSURE ROLL, that is covered by tube, applies pressure to solder toner onto paper with
the rubber roll having a metallic shaft in the center.
- The HALOGEN LAMP, that contains a heating coil used as a heat source of the HEAT ROLL, is
mounted in the HEAT ROLL to rise the temperature of the HEAT ROLL.
- The THERMISTOR, that is an electric resistor reacting the change of the temperature, comes into
contact with the HEAT ROLL to sense the surface temperature of the HEAT ROLL. The
THERMISTOR turns the HALOGEN LAMP on (power supply state: light-on) and off (go-off), and
prevents the primary temperature from being risen extremely.
- The THERMOSTAT, that is arranged in series with the power of the HALOGEN LAMP, opens the
contact to prevent the temperature from being risen extremely when the temperature over-rising
prevention (primary) by the THERMISTOR fails or the contact reaches the predetermined
temperature.
- The SENSOR EXIT senses whether the ejected paper passes normally depending on whether the
SENSOR ACTUATOR is repositioned.
- The SEPARATOR peels the end of paper from the HEAT ROLL to prevent paper from being
wound round the HEAT ROLL.
