YOU WILL NEED
A manual or electric screw driver, screws and the IKEA manual.
NOTE
Hinges for Billy frames are a little complicated since
IKEA packages hinges with their doors for Billy and they
cannot be purchased separately. The HJÄLPA hinges are
however a workable alternative – and in the spirit of this
IKEA-hacking concept, their installation requires a little
DIY as you will need to replace two the blunt hinge
screws provided by IKEA with the point ended screws
weprovide as replacements.
These will penetrate the frame without a guide hole,
asrequired for the two top-most hinge screws that sit
one position above of the pre-drilled holes
(that are made for the shelves).
