Security
Ensure that the area around the intake and exhaust
grille is kept free from material wich could prevent
the air to flow through the unit!
During operation the surfaces of the unit are hot!
The unit must not be covered fully or partially with
clothes or similar materials, as overheating can
result in a fire risk!
Assembly and operating instructions
General recommendations
Carefully read this instruction manual before
installation and use of the AD unit. Keep these
instructions in a safe place for future reference.
Application area
The Thermozone AD Corinte 1700E12- 2700E20
air curtains are intended for stationary/permanent
installation above/beside entrances and smaller
doors with a height/width up to 3 meters. The AD
Corinte 1700E12-2700E20 is delivered with
electric heating rods. The unit can be surface
mounted above or vertically mounted on the side
of a doorway.
Protection class: IP21.
Operation
The air is drawn in at the top/back of the unit and
blown out at high velocity across the doorway,
providing a protective air shield. The air shield
minimises cold draughts and reduces heat loss
through open doorways. For best efficiency, the air
curtain(s) should cover the whole width/height of
the opening.
The unit should normally be adjusted with an
angle outwards (5-10°) to achieve the best
protection.
The airflow and output can be adjusted by use of
the controlbox (22007/FRE)
The efficiency of the air curtain(s) depends on the
air temperature and pressure differences across the
doorway and any wind pressure.
NOTE! Under pressure in the building considerably
reduces the efficiency of the air curtain. Ventila-
tion should therefore be balanced.
Mounting
The units may be installed horizontally or vertically
over/beside a doorway with the air-stream directed
downwards/outwards. For the protection of wider
doorways, several units can be mounted next to
each other (horizontally mounting only).
For safe running the unit may not be mounted
closer than 200mm to flamable material. The units
can be fitted to the wall or suspended from the
ceiling. 2 mounting consoles are included with the
aircurtain
Fitted on the wall or beam
1. Mount the consoles on to the wall (se page 3)
2. Lift the aircurtain and tighten the screws in order
to obtain the right airflow angle.
Suspended from the ceiling
1. Mount the ceiling consoles (not included) in the
ceiling .
2. Mount the included consoles on to the unit and
connect the unit to the ceiling consoles.
3. Adjust the angle and tighten the screws.
Electrical installation
The air-curtain(s) should only be wired by a
competent electrician, and in accordance with the
latest edition of IEE wiring regulations.
Wiring diagram for controling of fan speed and
heatoutput are on pages 4-5. Wiring diagram for
other regulations can be distributed from Frico.
Overheating
All motors are equipped with an integral thermal
safety cut-out. This will operate, stopping the air-
curtain, if the motor temperature rise too high.
The cut-out will automatically reset when the
motor temperature has returned to within the
motor’s operating limits.
The aircurtains are also equipped with thermal cut-
outs. If it is released due to overheating, reset as
follows:
1 Disconnect the power supply.
2 Remove the grille on the inlet side. Investigate
the matter and repair thefault.
3 Locate the red buttons wich is located inside the
inlet grille. Press the buttons until a click is
heard (the click sound should be heard on at
least one of the 2-4 thermal cut-outs).
4 Remount the grill and connect the power supply.
Maintenance
To ensure performance and reliability of the air
curtain, inspection and cleaning should be carried
out regularly.
Before removing any panels, the power supply
must always first be disconnected.
Cleaning
1 Disconnect the power supply.
2 Remove the grille on the inlet side. Clean
reacheble parts carefully with a wet cloth.
3 Mount the grille and reconnect the power.
The fans, motors and other components are
maintenance free. Inspection and cleaning (if
needed) should however be carried out at least
once a year.
