Before Using

Wipe glass with damp cloth, inside and out. Do not immerse roasting chamber in water.

do not immerse roaster base, it's
power
cord or plug
in
water or
other
liquid.
Your Fresh
Roast
SR 500 coffee bean roaster is designed to roast approximately 5 ounces
of green coffee beans at one time. 4.5oz
I

18-20
cups of coffee.
Fill the provided 43cc measuring cup
4
times. Never overfill with green beans.
Place
glass
roasting
chamber on the
ba
se
unit; place basket and
top
cap on glass chamber.
Set fan
dial in the
middle position,
set
timer to 5.9
minut
es,
set
temperature to high.
Pressing
the
"
RUN
/
COOL" button once
to
start roasting
proces
s
.
If beans
are
not fluid
and moving,
incr
ease
fan
s
peed until beans
are fluid and
moving.
Durin
g
roa
s
ting
,yo
u may
press the
"
RU
N/COOL"
button once to cool down the coffee beans.
After
pressing
the button
once again
to
resume,it will roast
the r
e
maining
time.
Or
you
may
press and
hold the
button for
3 seco
nd
s
to
turn off
the roa
s
ter in
emergency.
After
completion of the
roasting
cycle,
yo
u
can press
the button
once to roast another cycle.
The roasting time is
the
last
memory
sett
ing.
To
reset the roaster back to the
factory setting
(i.e.
5.9
min), you have to plug off th
e
roaster and plug on again:
Allow
beans
to cool for the total 3 minutes before removing roast chamber
,
basket and
top
cap.
Allow
bean
s
a minimum of3 hours to degas
/
cool before grinding and
brewing
.
Roasting Tips
If your beans are not dark
enoug
h
after 5.9 minutes, you can raise the temperati.tre by
switching
to HIGH temperature or add time
with
the(
+)
button
before the machine goes
into the "COOL" mode.
Every time
you tap the(
+
) button it will add
s
ix
secon
d
s
and
the(-)
button will subtract 6 seconds from the roast sequence.
Lowering the fan speed will also
in
crease
temperature. If your beans are dense or 4
sco
ops
weights over
120
grams
you sho
uld
dry the
bean
s.
Set
the
fan on
the maximum
speed and the
t
em
peratur
e
on LOW.
Allow
the beans to dry for
ap
proximatel
y
2 minutes.
Switch the HEAT to Medium or HIGH depending on how dark you want your beans.
Adjust the fan
speed so
the beans are
fluid
throughout the roasting
seque
nce.
CAUTION:
Over roasting beans can create
smoke
. If
this occurs,
tap the
COOL button.
Do
not
switch
off
or unplug
the
machine.
