To adjust the foot platform angle:
1.Turn the adjustment screw to raise or lower the front of the foot platform.
To adjust the foot platform height:
1. Loosen the adjustment screw on the pipe.(See figure 26).
2. Raise or lower the foot platform to the desired height.
3. Tighten the adjustment screw to secure the platform position.
To adjust the foot platform distance:
1. Loosen the knob which is fastened on the pipe.(See figure 26).
2. Slide the foot platform in or out to the desired distance.
3. Tighten the knob to secure the foot platform.
POSITIONING BELT
Your power chair is equipped with a positioning belt that can be adjusted for operator comfort. (See
figure 27). The positioning belt is designed to support the operator so that person does not slide down
or forward in the seat. The positioning belt is not designed for use as a restraining device.
To adjust the positioning belt for operator comfort:
1. Once seated, inset the metal tab on one side of the belt into the plastic housing on the opposite side
until you hear a click.
2. Pull the excess strap attached to the metal tab until it is secure, but not so tight as to cause
discomfort.
To release the positioning belt:
1. Press the push button mechanism on the plastic housing.

Make sure the positioning belt is properly secured to the power chair and is
adjusted for operator comfort before each use.

Inspect the positioning belt for loose or damaged
parts before each use of the power chair. If you
discover a problem, contact your authorized
agent for maintenance and repair.

BATTERIES AND CHARGING
BATTERIES AND CHARGING
Your 168-W is equipped with two maintenance free 50-volt batteries, deep-cycle batteries. Since they
are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) level. Deep-cycle batteries are designed to
handle a longer and deeper discharge. Though they are similar in appearance to automotive batteries,
they are not interchangeable. Automotive batteries are not designed to handle a long, deep discharge,
and also are unsafe for use in power chairs.
MANDATORY!
Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead
compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling batteries and wash hands after handling.
PROHIBITED!
Always use two batteries of the exact same type, chemistry, and amp-hour (Ah)
capacity. Refer to the specifications table in this manual and in the manual supplied with the battery
charger for recommended type and capacities.
WARNING!
Contact your Authorized Freerider Agent if you have any questions regarding the
batteries in your power chair.
Charging the Batteries
The battery charger is essential in providing long life for your power chair batteries. It is designed
