Recharging the lantern
Place the lantern in the sun. For the best results, the solar
panel should be pointed directly at the sun, and this may
require the lantern to be tipped at an angle especially in the
early morning and late afternoon. The lantern is water
resistant but should not be left out in the rain.
The lantern has a micro USB port (5) under the rubber cover
(7). This may also be used to recharge the lantern battery.
After use, this rubber cover should always be kept firmly
closed.
The charging light (3) will shine when the lantern is being
charged, and the battery level will show (3).
Using the lantern
The bottom press-button (2) turns the lantern ON and OFF.
It also adjusts the brightness of the light. When this button
is pressed the battery level (3) is also shown.
The lantern may be hung by its handle (8), from a hook or
placed on a table.
The top press-button (6) operates the flashing light. This is
used to attract attention in an emergency. When pressed
the light flashes (and if fitted, a siren sounds).
Replacing the battery
The battery is accessed by removing the bottom cover of
the lantern (9). First remove the retaining screws (10) on the
underside of the lantern. Then lift the cover off. The battery
is now visible. Remove the clamp and unplug the battery.
Reverse the process when fitting a new battery.
Recharging mobile phones and other
USB-compatible products
To recharge an external product there needs to be charge
in the lantern battery. Check this by turning the lantern
on/off (2) briefly.
There is a standard USB port (4) under the rubber cover.
Plug in a USB cable and connect to a phone. After use,
this rubber cover (7) should always be kept firmly closed.
