up. The air flow generated by the fan is heated or cooled as it passes through the heat exchanger and
into the room.
3.4 Condensation Water Drainage
The machine is equipped with a condensate drain hole with a plug, located at the bottom of the collection
tank. To empty the tank, remove the cap, possibly fitting a pipe for continuous drainage.
4 - MAINTENANCE
The operations described in this chapter must only be carried out by authorised and qualified
personnel, using suitable personal protective equipment. Before carrying out any work,
disconnect the power supply and cut off the water supply.
Periodically check the efficiency of the heating system and the correct operation of the fan. Keep the
machine clean, avoid the accumulation of dirt on the unit, periodically clean the heat exchanger and the
fan.
4.1 Cleaning the machine
Carry out the following operations periodically, after having de-energised and checked that the heat
exchanger is cold:
•
Clean the machine body, fan and motor housing regularly using a soft, damp cloth and a non-
toxic, solvent-free cleaning agent. Do not direct any water jet, even indirectly, at the motor.
•
Do not use solvents.
•
Clean the exchanger with the help of a stiff-bristled brush, rubbing the fins gently, taking care
not to damage them.
•
In the event of unusual noises and vibrations, check the tightness of screws and bolts.
•
Use only original Franco s. r. l. spare parts.
4.2 Replacing the fan
•
Disconnect the machine from the mains and unplug the power cable of the fan motor.
•
Using an Allen key size 4 (AP15 and AP25 versions) or a hexagonal key size 10 (all other
versions), remove the four fixing screws that secure the fan grille to the unit body.
•
Remove the defective fan from its housing and place the new fan in place.
•
Secure the fan with the screws previously removed;
•
Check that the fan blades rotate freely. Reconnect the cable and check the direction of air flow.
4.3 Replacing the exchanger
AP15 - AP25
•
Cut power to the unit heater and shut off the water supply;
•
Remove the cover and the fan (fig. 4.3.1);
•
Remove the four screws securing the battery (fig. 4.3.2);
•
If necessary, heat the connections with a heat gun to soften the sealant in the fittings.
•
Unscrew the connections with a parrot spanner while holding the fittings on the coil with a 26
mm spanner (fig. 4.3.4), and disconnect the water supply and return hoses;
•
Remove the battery from the opening at the top of the AP (fig. 4.3.5).
AP30 - AP35 - AP40 - AP50 - AP60 - AP70 - AP80 - AP100
•
Cut power to the unit heater and shut off the water supply;
•
Remove the cover and the fan (fig. 4.3.1);
