d) The models BASIC and SOLVENT work by gravity. To dispense liquid let the
piston go; it will fall by its own weight. Do not press by hand!
The models SAFETY, SAFETY S and HF are equipped with a special piston seal. To
dispense liquid push the piston down to the zero-position using the finger guard.
The stopper cap of the discharge tube may never come into the dosing jet,
in order to avoid dangerous squirting.
e) Avoid uneven piston movements or jerking of the stopper ring.
f) Replace stopper cap after dispensing by holding the discharge tube tight with
other hand.
Warning:
The piston of the models BASIC and SOLVENT run down to the zero-position
automatically under their own weight. With the models SAFETY, SAFETY S
and HF with special seal the piston must be pushed down manually. Therefore
chemicals may remain in the dispensing cylinder. To avoid unintentional
dispensing, stopper cap must be placed on the discharge tube after every
use. When dispensing observe safety precautions!
V. Operating Temperature
The operating temperature for the models BASIC and SOLVENT is from
+15° C (+59° F) to +50° C (+122° F), with the models SAFETY, SAFETY S and
HF from +20° C (+68° F) to +30° C (+86° F).
VI. Sterilization
The models BASIC and SOLVENT can be sterilized at +121°C (+248°F)/1 bar. The
dispensing piston of the SOLVENT can remain in the cylinder during the sterilization,
the BASIC piston has to be sterilized separately.
Before sterilisation loosen screw of the volume setting system. Attention:
The BASIC sizes 200, 300 and 500 ml are not prepared for sterilization but they
are available in a modified version suitable for sterilization. Please ask your dealer
or the manufacturer.
The models SAFETY, SAFETY S and HF cannot be sterilized. Please clean with
appropiate cleaning solutions or ultrasound.
Sterilisation of OPTIFIX
®
dispensers will put excessive stress on
the dispensers both thermally and mechanically. As a consequence
sterilisation of OPTIFIX dispensers will invalidate the warranty offered on
the dispensers.
VII. Transport and Storage
1. When moving the dispenser never carry by the finger guard but always by
the PTFE- valve block to avoid unintentional dispensing of liquid! Replace
the stopper cap before transporting and fix the volume setting system at
the zero-position.
2. Please transport and store the dispenser only in the original box to avoid damage.
Storage temperature: -10° C (+14° F) to +50° C (+122° F).
