User manual built-in burners
2. Installation instructions regarding FORNO
®
built-in burners
The built-in burner is supplied complete with pressure regulator (50 mbar) and gas hose. Gas bottle not included.
1. Installing the FORNO
®
built-in burner
Remove your FORNO
®
built-in burner carefully from its packaging. Select the location for the FORNO
®
built-in burner.
The location must meet the following conditions:
- Make sure that the built-in burner is placed on an unflammable surface. The surface should be completely flat and clean.
- The built-in burner should not be installed in materials which conduct heat.
- The FORNO
®
built-in burner should be placed at least two meters from flammable materials and liquids.
Make a hole in, for example, your existing garden table or another place where you want to mount the burner. After making the hole, place the
built-in burner in your table from above. If you want to order the lava stones or ceramic wood blocks, this is possible at your purchase address.
If you are going to use the built-in burner for the first time, make sure the appliance is switched on at the highest setting for 15 minutes. This way,
the lava stones are properly heated and this ensures that possible irregularities or air bubbles will disappear from the lava stones. Make sure that
you do not place flammable materials within a radius of 2 meters (these first minutes) around the table. Do you want to clean up or move the ce
-
ramic logs and lava stones after use? Make sure that these are always completely cooled down!
The lava stones and logs can eventually turn black. This has to do with carbon formation, which always occurs with devices that show a yellow
flame. You can remove this by blowing / vacuuming the ceramic logs and lava stones with a vacuum cleaner. It can also be brushed off with a
dry brush.
2. Placing the gas bottle
FORNO
®
built-in burners are only suitable for propane gas. Ensure yourself of purchasing the correct gas bottle. The supplied hose is one meter
long. Position the gas hose carefully, people and pets can stumble over it. Therefore place the bottle always there where acces is impossible and
where children and pets cannot reach. Connect the gas bottle to the supplied pressure regulator. When you are not using the built-in burner make
sure the gas valve on the gas bottle is closed.
3. Replacing the gas bottle
Is the gas bottle empty? Make sure the gas valve is always in the closed position when handeling the gas bottle. Only when all surfaces are cooled
down and the gass bottle is closed, remove the pressure regulator. After placing a new bottle always check for leaks (see 4.).
4. Replacing the hose and pressure regulator
We advise you to replace your propane gas hose every four years. Pressure regulators can last for five years. Always check for leaks after replacing
the pressure regulator and gas hose.
How to check your built-in burner for gas leaks:
- Open the gas bottle but do not turn on the burner!
- Mix half water and half detergent, spray this liquid on every connector and the hose.
If there is a gas leak in the connections or the hose, it will cause the liquid to bubble.
- If bubbles are visible, immediately close the gas bottle and replace the leaking part(s).
- If the problem persists, please contact a qualified gas professional.
When replacing the hose or pressure regulator, make sure they are installed in the correct way. The hose should not be longer than 1.5 meters.
When in doubt, always consult a qualified gas professional.
5. Replacing the piezo ignition battery
The built-in burner features a piezo ignition that runs on a single AA battery. After repeated use, the battery will run out. The battery can be re
-
placed as following:
- Make sure the model, ceramic logs and lava rocks are completely cooled down.
- Make sure the device is no longer connected to the gas bottle.
- The battery can be found in the black ingnition button.
- The black ignition button can be twisted off in order to acces the battery.
- The old battery should be recycled.
6. Moving the unit
We advise to reduce the relocating of the built-in burner to a minimum. With every move you risk to damage the built-in burner. When relocating
the device is necessary, make sure it’s disconnected from the bottle. Make sure the new location meets all previously mentioned specifications.
7. Placing the cover plate
A stainless steel cover plate is included with every built-in burner. It’s the ideal protector for your burner against weather influences. We therefor
advise you to always use this cover plate when the burner is not in use. Before placing the cover plate, make sure all components are cooled
down after use. All ceramic logs need to be removed before placing the cover plate, make sure they are cooled down so you do not burn yourself!
