CONGRATULATIONS
You have accepted a starring role in the Mustang
Phenomenon, an automotive love affair that is unlike any
other. The Ponycar passion that began decades ago on
quarter-mile stretches of asphalt has evolved to become
your personal automotive experience today. This Quick
Reference Guide will help you mesh quickly with many of
your new car’s features. It was designed for use with the
accompanying CD-ROM. Insert the CD into any audio CD
player; find the numbered call-outs on the instrument
panel portion of this guide, then select the corresponding
number on the CD audio track for a fast, convenient
introduction to Mustang.
For more detailed information, place the CD into your
computer (the CD jacket will tell you if your computer
meets the minimum configuration requirements) – or
consult your Owner’s Guide.

ABS WARNING LAMP
Illuminates momentarily
when the ignition is turned to the ON position. In
an emergency, apply continuous force on the brake
to prevent wheel lock when braking on slippery
surfaces - do not pump your brakes. Any pulsation or
noise you may feel or hear is normal.
5
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LAMP

to ensure the system is functional. If the light
turns solid or blinks after the engine is started, a
malfunction has occurred. Seek service immediately
from your dealership.

clear the rear window of thin ice and frost. A
small LED will illuminate when the rear defroster is
activated. Press the control again to turn off the

desired. To deactivate, press the transmission control switch on
the gearshift lever.
8

under the front center of the hood. Lift the hood and
secure it with the prop rod.
10
TRACTION CONTROL (IF EQUIPPED)
This
system allows your rear-wheel drive
vehicle to make better use of available traction on
slippery surfaces by working closely with the anti-lock
braking system. The system defaults to ON, however,
should you become stuck, try switching the traction control
system off.
12

Push and hold for a longer wash cycle. The washer will
automatically shut off after ten seconds of continuous use.
To operate the mist function of the
windshield wipers, push and

cycle one or two times.
For extended wiper blade quality, occasional cleaning of the
wiper blades with a non-abrasive cleaner available from your
dealer is required.
