Now lay the cutting string clockwise at the
outside around the windscreen. Make sure
that it is well placed in the joint between
frame and windscreen (please check after
first tightening of the string.)
You can ensure this by means of the included
plastic threader.
Cut off the cutting string after having placed
it around the whole windscreen with an
overlapping 20cm from the puncture.
Interloop the fastening hook with the end of
the cutting string and hang it at a suitable
place in the engine compartment (do not
hang at the wiper axis).
Always fix the Power Drive in a position that the front part with the deflexion roller is as close to
the windscreen corner as possible. For detaching the Power Drive from the windscreen, just
slightly lift the rubber suction disk at the edge while holding the device.
Cutting out
Set the torque limit of the cordless
screwdriver at the beginning at two levels
below the „drill level“. This makes sure that
the cordless screwdriver „slips“ and it is
avoided that the cutting string is cut off in
case of two strong forces during the cutting
out. If necessary, put up the torque limit step
by step. Please work
very carefully and
slowly when working in the “drill modus”.
At the beginning, let the screwdriver turn
slowly clockwise and adjust the speed in
relation to how easily the cutting string is moving.
Hold the supplied cutting-out protection in the inside of the vehicle between string and
instrument panelling resp. between beam and ceiling in a way that the interior will not be
damaged. Do only continue the cutting-out operation until the cutting string does no longer
run over the deflexion roller of the Power Drive (cutting angle approx.. 80°).
Then detach the Power Drive and fix it to the
upper edge. Then continue the cutting-out
operation as described before. Always use
the cutting-out protection and always work
slowly in the corner areas.
