LINE-PHANTOM 24 V-MIC:
sensitivity switches for the inputs and 24 V phantom. These switches have
3 positions:
LINE:
in this position, high level audio sources can be connected to inputs 1 to 3: preamplified
microphones, CD, tape, tuner, etc.
MIC:
in this position, dynamic 30 - 600 Ω low impedance microphones can be connected to inputs 1 to
3.
PHANTOM 24 V:
in this position, electret condenser microphones that need 24 V phantom power can
be connected to inputs 1 to 3.
Use this switch with the volume at its minimum to avoid noises.
7.-
INPUT 1 to 3:
microphone/line inputs that use a combo XLR and 6.3 mm jack connector, accepting
balanced microphone signals and 30 - 600 Ω unbalanced and balanced electret condenser microphone
signals that require 24 V phantom power, present in pins 2 and 3 on the XLR connector. They accept
high level line signals, balanced or unbalanced, from mixers, CD, tape, tuner, etc.
Select the appropriate position with the switch, taking care to put the volume controls at their minimum
to avoid noise.
The microphone 1 input has priority function, cancelling all other inputs to give preference to paging,
emergencies, etc. The amplifier is supplied with cancelled priority. To activate this function you must turn
the MUTE/SEN control on the back panel clockwise, to its maximum (maximum priority).
CAUTION
: when you connect or disconnect an unbalanced microphone, the switch must be in the MIC
position. If the switch is in the PHANTOM 24 V position, it could damage the microphones. When you
use microphones that do not need phantom power, make sure that the switch is in the MIC position, as
the voltage in pins 2 and 3 of the XLR connector can damage the microphones. If in any doubt, speak
to your supplier or the FONESTAR technical service.
Examples of balanced and unbalanced line connection.
8.-
MUTE/SEN:
control for activating/deactivating priority in INPUT 1 and TEL inputs. Turn the control
wheel clockwise to maximum and the rest of the inputs will weaken automatically when a signal is
detected in the INPUT 1 or TEL inputs. Turn it anticlockwise and the priority function will go back to its
minimum.
Note:
the amplifier is supplied with priority cancelled. To activate this function you must turn the
MUTE/SEN control clockwise, to maximum (maximum priority).
9.-
GND. Earth:
earth screw, for using if the mains does not already have one incorporated.
10.-
AC socket:
for connecting the AC mains cable.
11.-
DC Power Input:
24 V DC power terminals. For the amplifier to work with 24 V DC power, batteries,
emergency power supply systems, etc. Make the connection with 2.5 mm
2
section cable to the -
negative and + positive terminals.
