Motor Caution:
This unit is equipped with a thermally protected motor with an automatic reset. If the unit stops from
overheating or stalling, allow the unit to cool. Do not leave the unit switched on if this occurs.
Maintenance
Unplug your unit from the electrical source and allow it to cool before performing any maintenance.
Replacement of any electrical cords should be done by a qualified electrician or an FSP technician.
Sanders can be cleaned using an air nozzle. Eye protection is recommended. The following is a
caution advisory by OSHA regarding wood dust:
1. Avoid dust contact with an ignition source.
2. Sweep or vacuum dust for recovery or disposal.
3. Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of wood dust in the air.
4. Avoid dust contact with eyes or skin.
5. First Aid: In case of contact, flush eyes and skin with water. If irritation persists, call a physician.
Belt Replacement
1. Remove sanding disc bolt, tapered washer, and sanding
disc.
2. Loosen motor bolts.
3. Replace sanding disk bolt with a 5/16-18 X 1 ½ " or longer
bolt, driving out dust plug.
4. Remove bolt and replace from topside ensuring maximum
thread contact.
5. Using a hammer, separate disk/pulley from the main body.
There will be sufficient resistance.
6. Replace belt while sufficient spacing is available.
7. Use an arbor press or similar device to press assembly back
together after removing bolt. (Keep disc parallel with the frame)
8. Tighten motor bolts allowing proper belt tension.
9. Approximately ½" deflection with normal thumb pressure should be sufficient to prevent slippage.
10.
Avoid over tightening belt. This shortens belt and bearing life.
11.
Replace sanding disk, bolt, and washer.
