1 Overview
1.1 Brief Description
These instructions are a brief version intended for end consumers. Only the functions intended for this user group are
described here. An overview of all functions is contained in the document “Basic Documentation for CS 500” (Art. no.
94269). Most functions are protected by passwords known to the end users. This is to prevent important operating
functions from being deactivated.
1.2 Menus
The menu items in the hand terminal are designed in a tree structure. The trunk shows the main items, while the
branches show either direct changes or submenus.
The system’s status, set values and current measured values can be read in the handheld terminal under the
Information menu.
You access the parameter names or setting lines via main menus (home page) and submenus.
The order in which the menus for the individual parameter names or setting lines are selected is also explained in the
overview and description.

If you want to change the temperature (setpoint value), place the cursor on Menu and then press the
Enter
key (3).
Move the cursor to
Temperature and press the
Enter
key (3). To change the value, press the
Enter
key (3) again and
use the (+) or (-) key to change to the desired value. Press the
Enter
key (3) again to save the value.
1.3 Service Stop
Before opening the doors for servicing make sure to: Press and hold the forcing-/stop button (6) on the hand terminal
for 5 seconds (“STOP” appears on the screen). Remember to turn off the fuses when servicing. If the ventilation unit
has a water battery you may open the doors after 1 minute (if fans have stopped). If the unit has an electrical battery
you must wait for 3 minutes (el.battery must cool down and the fans must stop).
Restart by pressing the forcing-/stop
button again.
1.4 Several panels
It is possible to have two CI 50 panels and two CI 500 panels connectet to one unit simultaneously. The main board
and the panels have two connectors each. The may be connected to the board in all different combinations.
When using one CI 500 panel the dipswitch 1 must be in ON-position (factory setting ON).If using two CI 500 panels
dipswitch 1 must be in ON-position on one panel (master) and in OFF-position on the other panel (slave). The clock
can only be set on the panel which is in ON-position.If you have one panel of each type the CI 500 must be set to ON
(standard). Dipswitch setting on the CI 50 of no consequence (switch nr. 1).
Do NOT TOUCH dipswitch 2. Changing the setting may
erase the panel memory completely.
To change the dipswitch 1 setting:
1 Remove the lid at the back
2 Remove the 2 screws which holds the circuit board
3 Flip the circuit board down
4 Change dipswitch setting
Factory settings:
1 = ON
2 = OFF
