FOR USE AS AN INTAKE FILTER
The SAR-1 media, made in Switzerland, provides
excellent filtration efficiency. This media wa created
to reduce air flow restriction while still maintaining a
high level of efficiency. This product is ideal in
crossdraft and downdraft booths where air velocity is
a concern.
The filter media is made from a blend of polyester
fibers coated with an ecologically sound tackifier,
and a scrim layer on the downstream side for added
strength and rigidity. The polyester fibers are fused
together through a special low-melt production line.
SAR-1 is made without the use of PVC or other
unfavorable chemicals. In a heated environment, it’s
these chemicals, and/or the tackifier and scrim
which can cause fiber discharge and heavy discol-
oration through the media (the browning effect). In
addition, the SAR-1 scrim layer resists discoloration
in a normal environment when compared to competi-
tive brands.
The scrim layer also helps reduce any fibers from
breaking off of the media during handling and instal-
lation. The scrim increases the strength of the
media and eliminates any sagging when loaded with
contaminants.
Rolls are cut on a razor sharp band saw and pads
are cut using a 5-1/4” rotary knife. This process vir-
tually eliminates any fiber shedding from abrasive
cutting techniques or carbon buildup from hot-wire
cutting.
