CAUTION!
ALWAYS connect the screwdriver/nutrunner motor to the supply unit
with the unit switched off. Failure to follow this rule could cause se-
rious damage to the tool or to the supply unit.
Only connect the product to a properly earthed mains supply in ac-
cordance with the applicable laws. Do not use junctions or adaptors
that could interrupt the electrical continuity of the earth connection.
Do not use connection cables other than those supplied.
The standard length of the power cable (code 686903834) between the screwdriver/
nutrunner motor and the power supply unit is 3 m. The standard length of the cable
from the supply unit to the mains supply is 2 m. Fiam recommends that these lengths
be observed. Other connection lengths are not contemplated in the certification for
this product. In addition, the system will not work if the screwdriver/nutrunner motor/
supply unit connection exceeds 9 m.
Observe the following restrictions when using the cable:
- radius of curvature > 80 mm
- maximum acceleration < 10 m/s
2
- maximum speed < 3 m/s.
STARTING THE TOOL
Use only the material provided in the package. Do not use connection
cables other than those supplied by Fiam.
1. Connect the tool power cable supplied first to the circular connector on the tool;
then, plug the other end of the cable into the socket on the front of the power sup-
ply unit.
2. Plug the power cable for the supply unit into the socket on the back of the supply
unit.
Then plug the product into the mains supply and switch it on.
* Fiam recommends that the screwdriver/nutrunner motor be used up to 80% of the maximum declared tor-
que. Take this aspect into consideration depending on the job in question.
** The torque values shown refer to laboratory analysis based on ISO 5393 Standard with the screwdriver set
to maximum speed (HI). The torque values given are purely an indication.
For the system to work correctly, you are advised to comply the following rules: minimum pause between two
successive tightening steps = 3 times the tightening time (e.g. 1 s tightening time, 3 s minimum pause between
two successive tightening steps).
The declared performance refers to the recommended cycle. Specifically, more frequent cycles may result in
a reduced torque range.
Note that the screwdriver/nutrunner motor has thermal protection, which trips and stops the screwdriver/
nutrunner motor at high temperatures. Correct operation returns when it has cooled down naturally (without
the need for external intervention).
